Phoenix Wright Creator Explains The Origins of the Game

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

MTV News has posted an extensive write-up on the Phoenix Wright game series that includes several quotes from the game’s creator, Minae Matsukawa. Here, Matsukawa explains that the series wasn’t originally a law game:

“The original director and creator, Mr. Shuu Takumi, had wanted to make a game where the player would find the lies and contradictions in statements when he set out to make the first [Game Boy Advance] ‘Gyakuten Saiban’ ['Ace Attorney'] game,” Matsukawa said. “And it was from that single gameplay concept that he realized the perfect setting would be in the courtroom, or so I’ve heard.”

“Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulation,” the latest entry in the series, is now available in stores for the Nintendo DS.

Marvel Comics Revamps Video Site

Marvel Comics has made a few changes to the video section of their website. Trailers and clips are now organized as channels to allow you to find the ones that relate to your favorite character more easily. While visiting, make sure to check out the preview of the upcoming Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon and leave a comment about what you think. Some of the recent comic book animated project end up being better than the live-action ones, however, this one seems to be a bit cheesy.

Microsoft Says XBOX 360 IPTV Still On The Way

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

The speculation that Microsoft would included IPTV functionality in the Xbox 360 fall update has been negated by the company. Someone at the website Xbox 360 Fanboy recently discovered some IPTV features built into a unit, which prompted Microsoft to send the following explanation to Gamespot:

“This was an isolated incident where these features were inadvertently exposed while the customer’s console was being serviced and is unrelated to the fall update.”

Gamespot goes on to explain that it looks as though the IPTV feature won’t be active this year. However, the technology to produce content for the system should be in the hands of the producers by December.
