Another Lawsuit for Marvel Comics

Filed under: .Oakley Inc., makers of fine, overpriced sunglasses, has filed suit against Marvel Comics, Twentieth Century Fox, and RDP Unlimiated over sunglasses used in promoting the film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It seems as though they feel the aforementioned sunglasses are a bit too similar to the companies’ Penny eyeglass line. Oakley wishes to prevent any more of the glasses, and, for those yet to be distributed to be destroyed.
A few weeks ago rock band Foo Fighters also sued against Marvel over their unauthorized use of one of their songs in an online trailer. Hopefully they’ll make it out of this unscathed.
