Napster seemed to be at death’s door thanks to the runaway success of Apples iTunes. That, however, may soon change thanks in part to their recent decision to drop Microsofts Playsforsure DRM from each of the six-million track it offers for sale. The prices, 99 cents for songs and $10 for albums, will remain the same. Apple does offer a select number of songs via iTunes sans DRM, but, most of their catalog still makes use of it. Perhaps Napster’s bold move will inspire more e-tailers to follow suit. Posted in: Music, Tech |
