Laser Printer Recieves DMCA Takedown Notice
by Wesley Johnson ~ June 6th, 2008. Filed under: .Two professors and a student at the University of Washington have released a study called Why My Printer Received a DMCA Takedown Notice. As part of their research, they monitored BitTorrent networks using a specific client to monitor traffic. Nothing was uploaded, nor was it download, but, they received over 400 takedown requests accusing them of piracy.
Three of the printers used in the study were accused by the MPAA of downloading Iron Man.
