MTV Responds to Konami’s Rock Band Lawsuit

MTV has little concern over the lawsuit Konami filed against them, Harmonix, and Viacom over the Rock Band guitar peripheral. An MTV rep was quoted by the network’s news program as saying, “Konami’s actions are extremely surprising … Unfortunately, successful products such as Rock Band can often become targets for baseless litigation. We have substantial defenses to this claim and intend to vigorously defend it.”
Konami had a game in arcades a few years ago that made use of a guitar controller which they patented. They are currently producing a Rock Band competitor, Rock Revolution, with a TBA release date.
