Make Like a Tree and Don’t Leave Comments: An Update

If you read my previous article, you may be interested in hearing that Kotaku recently also published a post called “A Guide to Proper Commenting”. I applaud them for their approach as much as I deplored Engadget for theirs. Some bullet points:
-They criticize their community for pointless (short) and off-topic comments, rather than for comments that disagree with their standpoint.
-They offer a guide to posting good comments, rather than continue to threaten and whine to their community.
I salute you Kotaku!
Soon enough, we’ll be seeing internet etiquette books on the shelves and learn how to properly, with southern hospitality, host a thread. Too bad the appetizers were all we ever cared about.
