HBO to Make a Film About 2008 Election

HBO has optioned yet another true political tome for film. The network has hired Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond) to pen a script based on the as yet unreleased Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a truncated title.
The book is being written by political writers Mark Halperin and John Heilemann and, of course, deals with the 2008 election. They say it will focus on the characters rather than the hoopla surrounding them. Halperin and Heilermann hope this slightly different angle will set them apart from other books about the subject.
Harper Collins will publish the book early next year.
