Top Cow’s 2009 Pilot Season Takes Different Slant
by Wesley Thomas ~ July 3rd, 2009. Filed under: Comics.
Top Cow’s Pilot Season initiative brought us several interesting comics over the last two years. For those unfamiliar with the program, it’s a promotion in which the publisher releases a handful of comics and fans vote on which two they’d like to become a miniseries.
Yesterday, G4’s Blair Butler announced that Top Cow would once again be hosting a Pilot Season. This year, however, things will be a bit different. In lieu of multiple books produced by various authors, the 2009 Pilot Season will consist of five books developed by Robert Kirkman and Marc Silvestri.
Pilot Season was a great way to discover fresh and unique talent. In our opinion, closing it off to all but two big names is a mistake on Top Cow’s part. Despite that, we’ll still gleefully purchase anything the duo produces for the contest.
