Video: The Phenomenal Handclap Band’s Baby

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Embedded below you’ll find director Steven Agnew’s video for The Phenomenal Handclap Band’s “Baby.”

Band member Sean Marquand said about the filming of the video, “we went upstate to our friend Paddy’s house, which was incredible, but the surreal serial killer aspect colored everyone’s mood. … The video reflects some of the highs and lows of our weekend. There’s kinship and celebration there but there’s also an underlying paranoia attached to being at such a remote location.”

Yeasayer’s Odd Blood Out Today

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

If Vampire Weekend is too boring for you, Odd Blood, the new album from sophomores Yeasayer, is out today and only $3.99 from Amazonmp3. Like Vampire Weekend, Yeasayer blend world music with their own unique blend of pop spices. You can download the new single, catchy-in-a-80s-Saturday-morning-cartoons way “ONE,”  and watch the video for the weirdly infectious “Ambling Alp” at their site. We expect to see Odd Blood on a few Pitchfork lists, including Worst Album Covers of 2010, right after whatever Doug Martsch puts out this year.

Video: Cold War Kids – Audience

Check out the new video from the Cold War Kids Behave Yourself EP. People on the internet are calling it “brilliant” and “dope.” We’d say, “It’s good,” if we had lips with which to kiss all the models in it.

Islands Enlist Michael Cera for New Video

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Islands, a pretty amazing band fresh off the release of their new album Vapours, have gotten a real-life celebrity to be in their new video for ‘No You Don’t.’ Gee golly. Although it looks like Michael Cera is overexerting himself starring in every banal hipster romantic comedy out right now, it’s good to see him doing good things again.

Rocking With Tetris

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

The Tetris theme is a song near and dear to everyones hearts. So why don’t people play it more? Apparently indie rock band Kiss Kiss has been filling peoples need for their 8-bit memories to be modernized.

While awaiting the release of their newest music video, the band decided to release a video of them covering the theme during one of their shows in a library of all places. The song does not start until around the 1:04 mark in the video so you might want to skip ahead. There is a scene after the song which is a little NSFW so you have been warned. Check out the video bellow and if you like the bands style you might want to stop by their Myspace to hear more.
