Image Comics has continued to toss us teasers for their Guardians of the Globe series. The latest one features our Commander-in-Chief, Barack Obama. Due to its hilarity, we couldn't resist showing it off. Read on after the jump for a large version of it.

The IESB reports that George Lucas has a new Star Wars animated series based on the Galactic Heroes line of pre-school toys (think Marvel’s Super Hero Squad) in pre-production. Believe it or not, he’ll actually be directing the project. Given that 2005’s Revenge of the Sith was the last feature he helmed, we’re not so sure that’s a good idea.
The current working title of the series is Squishes, which will hopefully change by the time it’s available for public consumption. If it doesn’t, we’re sure there’ll be multiple Squishy/Lucas Neck jokes made across the blogosphere.

Director Michel Gondry has teamed with real-life pixie Bjork to create a 3D “scientific musical,” possibly for showing in IMAX screens in museums across the globe.
“We have a very ambitious project, a sort of scientific musical,” Gondry tells ThePlaylist.Blogspot.Com. “[It's a movie], but maybe more for museums. Like a 40 minute IMAX project in 3D.”
We’re looking forward to this, With two crazies like Gondry and Bjork involved, the film produced will undoubtedly be unique, interesting, and whimsical.

Seth Graham-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was quite a novelty upon its release. Sadly, the runaway success of that tome has inspired a countless number of imitators. A quick glance at Amazon reveals several classic/zombie mash-up books that would make even the most forgiving book nerd cringe.
Quirk Classics, the publisher responsible for the more readable mash-ups, released a trailer yesterday for a PPZ prequel, Dawn of the Dreadfuls (out March 23), which will put the PPZ characters in a Dawn of the Dead-esque scenario. Graham-Smith passed the torch to Steve Hockensmith this time out. View the trailer below and let us know if zombie over-saturation will prevent you from buying the book.

The negative economic climate hits the comic world this April with the release of Amazing Spider-Man #628. The book features a second story from the creative team of Mark Waid, Tom Peyer and Todd Nauck chronicling the freshly jobless Peter Parker's attempts to find employment while doing battle with the Absorbing Man (great moniker, eh?). Not only do you get this particular tale, but another featuring the Juggernaut. Woah!

At the end of his press tour for Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Jason Segel commented that he was currently writing another Muppets movie- and now, cast as the human star of the film. While details are rather sparse on the upcoming puppet picture, Segel will be playing a man on a quest to reunite the Muppets after the show had gone off the air for years.
The glee for a new Muppet movie can be heard all around the ‘Funk offices. How about you, ‘Funk community? Glad to see another Muppet movie in the works?

Paul Bettany is at it again- after the critically panned Legion, it seems the British actor is trying his hand at yet another supernatural film- Priest, based on the manwha (Korean comic) of the same name by Hyung Min-woo. The film has been kept under wraps for a while now, but basic plot details (such as an entirely different storyline) and some of the roles have been leaked.
