Those adorable Swedes Shout Out Louds will soon embark on a tour of the United States to promote their latest LP, Work. The album is now available in North America via Merge Records; the tour begins on May 2 in Washington.
The group documented their Work recording sessions and put together a documentary, which is embedded below. Read on after the jump for their tour itinerary.

Marvel has provided us with a brief preview of Jeph Loeb and Arthur Adams' Ultimate Comics X #2. The issue, out April 7, apparently reveals "who or what" Ultimate X is, which seems a bit weird. Shouldn't you go a few issues before dropping major bombs? Haven't Loeb and Adams learned anything from Lost?

Capcom is doing their best to make sure those that bought the original version of Resident Evil 5 aren’t left out in the cold when it comes to expanding the games content. While the Gold Edition was just released, containing all the current DLC as well as “original content”, those that bought the regular version can now get some of the DLC at a discounted price.
As of today, Xbox 360 owners can download the new packaged version of the DLC content for 960 Space Bucks ($12) and it will be available tomorrow on the Playstation Network for $12.50.
There is no word as to why there is a 50 cent discrepancy between the two version of the DLC package.

Next time you’re in a theater next to a noisy moviegoer, you might want to think twice about telling him or her to shut his trap. During a recent Shutter Island screening in Los Angeles, a man grew tired of a noisy woman sitting in his vicinity and shushed her. The fact that two gentlemen that accompanied the lady later stabbed the angered theater patron in the throat with a meat thermometer seems to indicate she didn’t appreciate the aforementioned shush.
The two assailants are still at large; the victim was hospitalized with serious wounds. No word was given on whether or not his temperature was normal was post-puncture.

In a posting to the Rock Band Facebook fanpage, Harmonix has announced Rock Band 3 to be released “this holiday season”. There are basically two kinds of movies: movies that feel real, and movies that don’t. Breaking Upwards is the former.
You know what I mean, right? Watch most any blockbuster rom-com and you’ll see it: the witty one-liners, the perfect hair and makeup, each scene crafted to be either funny or emotional (but not both). Such movies can still be enjoyable, but as you watch them there’s a part of you that says: this isn’t real. People aren’t really that way, they don’t fit into neat categories like that; people in the real world are messy and complicated.
The people in Breaking Upwards are messy and complicated. Daryl (played by Daryl Wein, who also directed) and Zoe (played by Zoe Lister-Jones) love each other, but they’ve been together a long time and they feel something is missing. Such movies can still be enjoyable, but as you watch them there’s a part of you that says: this isn’t real. People aren’t really that way, they don’t fit into neat categories like that; people in the real world are messy and complicated.
The people in Breaking Upwards are messy and complicated. Daryl (played by Daryl Wein, who also directed) and Zoe (played by Zoe Lister-Jones) love each other, but they’ve been together a long time and they feel something is missing. They decide to spend a few days each week apart. This small freedom leads both of them to take ever-bigger liberties, which they find both exhilarating and (at times) exquisitely painful. I won’t spoil the ending, but you’ll want to watch till the very last scene – it’s worth it.
As I watched this movie, I constantly wanted to scream at the people onscreen: be reasonable! Talk to each other! Forgive each other! Figure this out! But of course real people are anything but reasonable, and the seemingly inevitable way that Daryl and Zoe drift apart is all too believable. At one point, just before he does something particularly unethical (and stupid), Daryl utters the line, “I’m a douche.” And he is, at least at that moment. But nobody in this film is perfect, and they’re likable in spite of that fact, perhaps because of it.
If I’ve made this sound like a dreary, depressing anti-romance, that’s the wrong impression. For all its drama, the story stays fairly light, and it’s genuinely funny in parts.
There are moments where the movie wavers. Certain portions of the script (co-written by the two stars and Peter Duchan) sound like actors reciting a script, rather than real conversation. You’ll have that, I guess. But don’t let that stop you from seeing this movie. Breaking Upwards accomplishes a rare feat: it is heartwarming without being fake. You don’t get that a lot.

Seattle-based Mighty Tiger create faux-vintage studio rock (like Field Music, Real Estate, and Fleet Foxes) on their debut for Paper Garden Records, Western Theater. Throughout the LP, a noticeable analog warmth is audible, but the motif occasionally feels contrived, like a thrift-store blazer over an Ed Hardy tee.
The opening two tracks exemplify this shortcoming as the band attempts a caffeine-fueled Apples in Stereo pace, even though they appear at home with a more reserved tempo. The other noticeable mistep occurs when ”Hands in Holy Water” forsakes lyricism to make a point. The anti-suburban-hippie rant is witty but barely musical, at least until the bridge.
When the band does succeed, the results are impressive. “33 1/3″ is a catchy pop masterpiece and by far the album’s strongest moment, complete with a string-backed hook, percussive piano, and a bouncy bassline. The album could benefit from a summer breeze and pool party setting, so maybe wait it till May and give it a shot then. Right now, do yourself a favor and listen to “33 1/3.”
